All you ever wanted to know about chakra balancing, to help you answer your questions.
Are you the kind of person who has enough stress in your life, that you have problems falling asleep at night?
Do things seem to stack up for you on a daily basis, because you’re so busy that you can’t seem to catch a breath?
You could possibly think about some chakra balancing, as it could be the perfect way to safely eliminate some of those stagnate energy blocks and get back that “mojo” feeling, to your optimum self again.
Now let’s assume that you don’t know anything at all about chakra balancing.
Ok, so let’s start from the beginning… what is a chakra, anyway?
What is your chakra?
The Chakra is the spiritual version of our bodies.
It’s a lot more complicated than that, but it’s a good simplification for now.
The Chakra was a concept used by the ancient Sanskrit people to describe the energy centres, that they believed were central to your health and wellbeing.
If one of your chakra’s was out of balance, they believed it would lead to specific dis-eases, ill health, and general unhappiness.
Nowadays, we know that the chakra points don’t give us diseases if improperly managed.
Rather, they are related to our spiritual, mental, and emotional wellbeing.
If you have a chakra point that isn’t receiving the same attention, energy, and nurturing as the others, you are may possibly experience some negative effects.
There are 7 chakra points, as follows:
- The Crown Chakra is located on the crown of your head.
- The Third Eye Chakra is in the centre of the forehead.
- The Throat Chakra is your throat area.
- The Heart Chakra is in the centre point around your heart and chest area.
- The Solar Plexus Chakra sits just under the centre of your ribcage.
- The Sacral Chakra is at the bellybutton area.
- The Root Chakra is in the lower abdomen.
The Chakra points each have corresponding colours, and symbolic meanings within the health and wellbeing of your whole self.
For example, a blockage in the heart chakra could see a person struggle to form meaningful relationships.
A blockage in the throat chakra stops the development of your spiritual self and possible problems with open communication (or the Chi), and so on.
What Is Chakra Balancing?
Balancing these chakra points, which essentially mimic spinning wheels or discs of energy, takes concentration and a meditative state.
We will give you a Chakra Balancing Exercise a little later, but first we want to talk about the Solfeggio Frequencies and how this can compliment with chakra balancing.
While you can create a balanced Chakra using visualisation and meditation, you can also use music to harmonise your body and soul, too.
What Are Solfeggio Frequencies?
For thousands of years, mankind has turned to music as a healing tool.
The Solfeggio Frequencies were devised hundreds of years ago to resonate parts of the body, therefore promoting healing and well-being.
One of the first of these belief systems to be recorded was by a monk and named the Solfeggio Frequencies.
Where Do Solfeggio Frequencies Come From?
Contrary to the vague description that they have been ‘used by ancient civilizations for thousands of years’ that you find on most pages, Solfeggio exercises can be dated to the 11th century.
A Monk named Guido D’Arezzo realised that there was a correlation between healing and music.
He developed the scale of Ut-Re-Mi-Fa-Sol-La, with each sound believed to help achieve healing in certain parts of the body when chanted.
The Solfeggio Frequencies are used in over 150 different monastic chants, but for some reason, the scale disappeared from use after the 1300s.
The vanishing is somewhat attributed to the development of a new twelve-tone system.
This was called the 12-tone equal temperament mistunes and was widely believed to be better than the original .
It took us a further few hundred years to realise that the original was better, after all.
A Revival Of The Solfeggio Frequencies
In the 70s, a Dr. named Joseph Puleo claimed to have rediscovered the sacred sounds.
He found the scales in a hymn, and worked mathematically with the bible, in which numbers and dates seem to correspond to these sounds.
Once established, he set about marketing these sounds as the best way to attune yourself to the universe.
So, what’s the real truth here?
Are Solfeggio Frequencies Able To Unlock Chakra Blockages?
Can they be used – as Joseph Puleo claimed – to repair damage to your DNA?
While we value the use of frequencies as a vibrational enhancer more than your average person, we’re still a little skeptical.
For a start, there were only ever 6 Solfeggio Frequencies, but modern claims are that there are 7 Chakra frequencies… Let’s look to the science for some clarity.
Can Sounds Heal (According To Science)?
Anyone who has ever used an ultrasonic product already knows that sound vibrations have direct impacts on our world.
If it wasn’t for those vibrations inside our ears when a sound is made, we shouldn’t even be able to hear in the first place.
The knowledge that sound can impact a person, object, or state, is scientific fact… otherwise why did they bother inventing the ultrasonic toothbrush or pest control systems that use frequencies to keep mice away…?
What is an ultrasound scan, if it isn’t the use of vibration to create a resultant effect on the human mind/body system?
Ultrasound is even being used to heal muscle damage and repair wounds.
There is absolutely nothing pseudoscientific about healing via sound vibrations.
Spiritual journey - 888 Solfeggio
If we go even deeper than this and look at scientific studies, there have been a few clinical and observational trials conducted into sound healing.
One such clinical study operated by exposing 19 volunteers to Low-Frequency Sound Stimulation of 40HZ, over 23-minute sessions, ten times a week.
Each of the patients suffered from Fibromyalgia, and each reported significant improvement in sleep, pain, muscle range, tone, and mood as a result.
A second study we found interesting, investigated how a Tibetan singing bowl could be used to improve the participants mood, well-being, and a few other factors.
When tallied up, those in the older age range had the most benefit from the release of tension brought about by that frequency.
Can sounds heal you?
Now let’s find out if there is a correlation between the frequencies used in the Solfeggio group, and the frequencies reputedly able to heal chakra points.
How Do You Balance Your Chakras Using The Solfeggio Frequencies?
In a process known as Chakra Music Healing, you can use the Solfeggio Exercises to effectively heal and balance your chakra points.
Use these frequencies to unblock a clogged chi, achieve the next step towards enlightenment, and progress in your metaphysical state.
Chakra Music Healing
Chakra music healing is the act of listening to the correct frequencies, so that you can trigger an alignment of these chakra points.
Listening to this type of sound regularly can bring about all sorts of positive changes in your life.
Chakra music healing can help you feel more in tune with the world around you, particularly when chanted to yourself.
Chakra music healing brings together the Solfeggio frequencies with music that you don’t mind listening to.
It works in the same way as the Tibetan singing bowl we mentioned earlier.
However, if you want to try Chakra Music Healing for yourself and are wondering how to start, you might want to get into the habit of chanting (it can be the specific mantras below or a particular positive mantra of what you feel you need at the time).
Chanting, as well as listening, will help you get the maximum benefit from Chakra balancing through music.
What Are The 7 Chakra Frequencies?
To use the Solfeggio Frequencies, you can listen to the following 7 Chakra Frequencies:
- The Crown Chakra is 768 Hz (chant I…My…Ing)
- The Third Eye Chakra is 720 Hz (chant Ah…Mah)
- The Throat Chakra is 672 Hz (chant Oh…Go)
- The Heart Chakra is 594 Hz (chant Eu…U)
- The Solar Plexus Chakra is 528 Hz (chant Uh…Cup)
- The Sacral Chakra is 480 Hz (chant E…Me)
- The Root Chakra is 432 Hz (chant Ae…Wae)
Are there 6, 7 or 12 Chakra Frequencies?
The eagle-eared will have spotted that there are 6 Solfeggio exercises and 7 Chakra Frequencies.
There are only 6 Solfeggio Frequencies.
The option for 12 was never truly dismissed, either it’s just that the 6 were what made the revival.
The 6 Solfeggio Frequencies are:
- 396 Hz for getting rid of guilt and fear
- 417 Hz for getting used to change
- 528 Hz for transformation and DNA repair
- 639 Hz for relationships
- 741 Hz for your spiritual self
- 852 for going back to your spiritual place in the universe
As you can see, the Solfeggio Frequencies are vastly different to the Chakra Healing frequencies, even if both are thought to have healing properties.
The difference is half-explained by the addition of three new frequencies by a yogi trying to find something to explain the crown chakra.
Since 768 was the next on the scale, that’s what they went with.
What are the 7 Healing Frequencies?
The 7 healing frequencies, therefore, need to be the 7 frequencies that the Chakra healing system works with.
To get the most recuperation for your meditation time, try chanting these, or listening to them on YouTube.
Now that, that’s cleared up, let’s talk you through at a simple music chakra healing exercise that you can do at home.
A Simple Chakra Music Healing Exercise To Try At Home
Find a comfortable place in your home, where you can sit in the yogi position, or at least in a comfortable seating position where you can relax.
Take your laptop or phone with you and set up the frequency which you would like to listen to.
When you are ready, press play and take up a cross-legged or seating position with your hands on your knees.
As you listen to the sound, think about your corresponding chakra point.
Imagine it as a water wheel drawn in the corresponding colour to that chakra point.
With every breath you exhale, you push more and more brightly coloured water into the wheel.
This makes the wheel turn a little, so you add in more.
Only when every chakra point is cleansed and the water can pass through you from head to toe, are you truly balanced in the metaphysical/spiritual world.
A real session involves working from the crown frequency down to the root frequency, listening to every frequency on the way down the scale.
Some people may even work from the bottom chakra to the top, depending on their belief and what chakra they want to work on, such as root chakra with mother earth nurturing and grounding effect and then going up towards the crown chakra area and into the spiritual realm.
You can do this without music, but this is a difficult task that could take years of practice and meditation to master, since our minds are so chaotic, continually pre-occupied and busy.
Top Tip: You can always start from the crown.
It’s an old Reiki trick for chasing pains out of the body, down through the feet.
What have Reiki and Crystals got to do with Chakra Music Healing?
Crystals work with those exact same frequencies when arrayed in the correct order, on and around your body.
You can learn how to do that in one of our previous articles.
Note that it is important to place the correct crystal on the correct chakra point to achieve chakra balancing and spiritual harmony.
As for Reiki, this is where things get interesting.
A Reiki healer can manipulate your chi in such a way that it begins flowing properly through all your chakra points. This is the essence of Reiki.
When you go to a Reiki practitioner, this is the same as giving yourself a spiritual deep cleanse.
Your chakra points will be flushed through with universal energy until they are clean as a whistle – then the practitioner will set them spinning in a balanced motion, so you are at your optimum levels of energy.
So, while crystal healing works in the same vibrational patterns as chakra music healing, reiki rebalances your chakras and doesn’t always use music.
If you practice any of the above often enough, you will soon find that it gets easier and easier, every time as it feels great each and every time you practice this relaxing technique.
When you get to the stage of having a free-flowing chakra system, your connection to both the earth below and the air above is untainted, feeling so balanced and intune with your total self.
This lets universal energy flow through you, using you as conduit to connect spirit and body with everything around it….opening yourself up to universal possibilities and opportunities that surround you.
