As the name implies, a Soundbath is a method of deeply relaxing and entering a meditative state while immersed in sounds and vibrations that have been used to potentially heal the mind, body, and soul.

Practitioners create sound and vibrations by either striking the bowl with a mallet or rubbing it around the rim in a circular motion.

When rubbed around the rim a few times, some bowls produce a longer, sustained sound. This can vary though, depending on the metals used and the practitioner’s experience.

While a sound bath can be facilitated by a holistic practitioner like yoga, meditation, or a music healer.

This can be practiced in a group setting, one one one sessions, or even doing it at home.

It’s somewhat similar to a meditation, because you’re in a deep, tranquil state of being.

The great thing is participants are not required to do much at all. 

No special clothes or equipment are required during a sound bath. However, participants are best to wear comfortable clothes for the laying or sitting positions. 

Some participants are even prompted to bring along their own items. Things like perhaps a pillow, blanket, yoga mats, eye pillows, and anything else one might need to feel 100% relaxed to be totally immersed in the session.
