Your Positive Zen Energy quick guide to raising your positive vibration during day-to-day life.

We regularly cover tips and different strategies for change in which a more positive attitude could improve your life.

A positive mindset isn’t just about a silver lining, but it can actually help you stay healthier, live longer, and stay off the heavy stress ladders more successfully.

However, what nobody talks about, is how a positive mindset with  a positive interpretation, can shift our entire perspective, even when we have negative news and are surrounded by difficult times.

Today, we discover the trick to positivity, the importance in the power of positive thinking in a different light.

So we will discuss how to keep that positive mindset even during bad times.

A Quick Recap on Positive Thinking

We already know that positive thinking acts as a motivator for us.

We also know it helps us build more meaningful relationships, keeps us open to opportunity, and even reduces stress and anxiety.

We explore techniques by which we can correct negative thinking to improve our own mental health, as in this article.

Put simply, waking up each and every day and making the decision to view life with a sunny outlook can change your entire situation through time, especially when you are surrounded by negative people which includes family.

You can gain a pragmatic attitude by – trialing some hypnosis audiosanother way is by meditating frequently as these options can help with managing your stress levels better, maintaining and improving health.

However, life is challenging and consists of ups and downs. Things are going to get tough, relationships, careers, and family matters, even the COVID-19 pandemic, will all be difficult at times, that can impact our own mental health.

We might not be able to control what happens in our lives, but a positive mental attitude gives us back some direction, and more resilience.

It’s not what happens to us in negative situations that we can change, it is our reaction towards those happenings or bad news that sees us progress in an emotional state in the current situation that doesn’t always give us the best results.

By redirecting those thoughts and viewing things from the positivity angle, you will learn how to become patient, tolerant, and less reactive and have more favorable outcomes in life.

The connection between positive thinking and developing emotional maturity is proven in studies.

In one such study run on Psychology students in Medan University, it was shown that a positive attitude accounted for approximately 24% of emotional growth in the group studied.

Other factors were attributed to the other 76%.

Let’s focus on that second percentage for a moment.

Like it or not though, a positive mindset isn’t always possible.

When Positivity Doesn’t Work?

As a society, we must stop putting the weight of constant positivity onto our lives.

This is an irrational ideal.

Imagine being positive 100% of the time. Think about how that would appear in an argument with your spouse, at a funeral, or when you are sacked from your job.

In fact, psychologists routinely split daily emotions into 4 broad categories. These are:

  • Happiness
  • Sadness
  • Anger
  • Fear

Which they believe you feel every day in different proportions.

So straight away, stop blaming yourself for those days when positivity just doesn’t seem to be possible. Human beings are not made to be positive 100% of the time.

However, that doesn’t mean you can’t try and give yourself a bit of extra time to implement a positive attitude as much as possible throughout the day.

We just wanted to reiterate that sometimes, it’s OK to be sad and reflect.

How to Stay Positive During Hard Times

How can we stay positive during those hard times when we feel our positivity and “happy state” is challenged?

Here are some top tips on maintaining that optimistic attitude when faced with tough times and bumpy rides.

1. Create Positivity around your Home

By turning your home into your own private and peaceful relaxing sanctuary, you can eliminate many of the stressors and troubles that go on outside of your nest.

You can even create a small space outdoors so you feel you have spent a bit of time in nature grounding and connecting yourself to mother earth  (take your shoes off and feel the difference.)

Remember there are ways to “soothe and stabilize” those negative emotions once you enter your home space, so you can rest, relax and leave it all outside and not bring that energy into your own personal sanctuary.

Even decorating a space that is just yours, where you can have peace and tranquility, is enough to create a positive environment where you  feel more quality of life, when times are hardest.

2. Take Time Out

Mindfulness can help in so many areas of your life. If you start to use it routinely, implementing a mindfulness plan when times are tough can help you maintain that positivity and happy energy level.

For example, setting aside 15 minutes per day to meditate can help you to overcome and prevent many health problems.

You can reduce your stress level, lower your blood pressure, and focus on the present, all with the aid of mindfulness meditation

3. Recognize and Vocalize Thankfulness

Practice gratitude, a great way to mediate on some of those negative feelings created when times get tough.

If you are struggling at work, for example, expressing gratitude that you still have a job and incoming regular money is a more positive outlook to lower the anxiety and negativity level of thoughts.

Likewise, a day where you bump your car is a day you are lucky enough to have insurance and lucky enough to come home safely to tell your family all about it, (as opposed to being in a bad car crash ending up in hospital.)

A day where you fight with your loved one, is a day where you have relationships worthy of fighting for and knowing that if you redirect those thoughts onto different ways of more loving communication, is a good lesson learned.

And a day you lose someone is a day you must celebrate their life, with all of the love, the good memories, loveable and funny traits you may picked up from them, with keeping those memories alive, knowing these will be cherished forever throughout generations.

It’s not always easy to spot the things we can be thankful for.

It’s not even always possible to see any positive aspects to your life, at times of rejection, anger, frustration or adversity.

But if we can train our thoughts and redirect them for more positivity and maintain consistency for long enough, they become our normal way of thinking.

They also become our preferred way of thought and life, as they give us more happiness, resilience and more favorable outcomes.

Learning techniques for positive thinking allows those techniques to kick in automatically when we need them most to help us out.

Techniques that will make Positive thinking Normal

If you want to instill a positive mental attitude as your ordinary state of thought, then try the following techniques.

And if you learn them well enough and practice them daily, you will create a whole  new healthy habit for your own mental health, which alters the amount of negative perceptions and outcomes that follow.

Balance Negative and Positive

One of our favorite ways to make positive thinking normal for you, is to balance every negative thought you have with a positive one, look at your list and see which one makes you feel better.

Since we are all creatures of default mechanisms, next time catch yourself, and intentionally redirect those thoughts,  and before you know it, they become your  “new default” regular thought patterns.

Correct your Inner Monologue

Every time you catch yourself having a negative thought about your body, personality, or appearance, correct yourself.

Don’t be afraid to correct and improve that inner voice that it is always looking for the negative in something or anything really.

Identify Negativity ‘Triggers’

If certain things make you feel or think negative, catch yourself and notice it, this is where you interrupt that thought and grab it while it’s there, and intentionally steer it in the right direction.

The direction of better feeling thoughts, even if it gives you a quick smile, for the moment.

Another way to stay in a more happier mind zone, is spending more time with positive people, as the environment you spend your time in makes a huge impact on how you feel and what you talk  and think about.

These small acts will allow you to monitor exactly what your triggers are, so that you can avoid  and manage them better in bad situations, and live a happier version of you.

The Conclusion

A positive mindset and a happier outlook on life, is definitely achievable, even if you are facing hard times.

Keep in mind that there are times when it’s alright not to be alright, but it also gives you a chance to reflect, examine and ask the question could anything have been different if you thought about it differently?

So start with some baby steps, correct and keep intentionally redirecting just one negative thought for one whole month, and see if this makes a change for you.

Learn how to instill those healthy new habits for a healthier mindset, and get more favorable outcomes in life.
